Baklava Cream Cookies (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Base Cookies

01 - 1½ cups plain flour
02 - ½ cup sugar
03 - ½ cup butter, softened
04 - ¼ cup honey or syrup
05 - ¼ cup finely chopped walnuts
06 - ¼ cup finely chopped pistachios
07 - ½ teaspoon cinnamon powder
08 - ¼ teaspoon cardamom powder
09 - ¼ teaspoon salt

→ Filling & Topping

10 - ¼ cup softened cream cheese
11 - ¼ cup icing sugar
12 - ¼ cup thick caramel sauce
13 - Extra chopped walnuts and pistachios for decoration

# Instructions:

01 - Set your oven to 350°F. Cover a baking tray with parchment paper.
02 - Whisk sugar and butter into a fluffy mix. Pour in honey. Separately, combine flour, salt, and spices. Gradually work the dry mix into the fluffy mixture. Stir in the nuts.
03 - Form small dough balls, flatten gently. Bake on the tray for 10-12 minutes until edges turn light brown.
04 - Once cookies chill, whip cream cheese and icing sugar into a silky mix.
05 - Spread filling between two cookies to make a sandwich. Drizzle over caramel sauce and toss on extra nuts to finish.
