One Bowl Cake (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Cake

01 - 1 cup brewed coffee (or hot water with 1 1/2 tsp instant coffee)
02 - 1/4 cup (23g) unsweetened cocoa powder
03 - 1/4 teaspoon salt
04 - 1 tablespoon vinegar
05 - 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
06 - 1 1/4 cups (188g) all-purpose flour
07 - 1 teaspoon baking soda
08 - 1 cup (200g) sugar
09 - 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons mild olive oil or neutral oil

→ Decoration

10 - 8 maraschino cherries (optional)
11 - 1 batch Chocolate Buttercream Frosting

# Instructions:

01 - Turn the oven on to 350°F. Butter two 6-inch round pans, sprinkle with flour, and put parchment on the bottom.
02 - Stir together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, sugar, and baking soda until combined.
03 - Pour in the hot coffee or water, the oil, vinegar, and vanilla. Mix just till everything's smooth—don't overdo it.
04 - Spread the batter into the pans evenly. Bake about 30 minutes, and it’s done when a toothpick comes out clean.
05 - After 5 minutes, move cakes from pans to a rack. Once they’re completely cool, add chocolate frosting and cherries if you'd like.

02 - Use for two 6-inch pans, one 8-inch pan, or 12 cupcakes
03 - Store finished cake in a cool place
