Nutella Hearts Pastry (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ To Make the Pastries

01 - 1 sheet of thawed puff pastry
02 - 1 egg for brushing
03 - 1 tablespoon of water for brushing
04 - About ½ cup of Nutella

→ Optional Toppings

05 - Whipped cream
06 - Powdered sugar
07 - Fresh berries

# Instructions:

01 - Warm the oven up to 375°F (190°C) and cover a baking tray with parchment paper.
02 - Use a knife or heart-shaped cutter to carve out heart shapes from the room-temp puff pastry.
03 - Lay the hearts on the baking tray and chill them in the fridge for 10 minutes to keep them firm.
04 - Smear roughly 1 tablespoon of Nutella in the middle of half the hearts. Keep the edges clean.
05 - Place a plain pastry heart over each Nutella one. Press around the sides to close them up, and crimp with a fork if you'd like.
06 - Combine the egg with water, then use a pastry brush to coat the top of the pastries lightly.
07 - Bake for 15–18 minutes until the pastries are golden and puffed up. Let them cool a bit before eating.
08 - Sprinkle with powdered sugar and add whipped cream or fresh berries for extra flair, if you want.

# Notes:

01 - Tastes best when still warm
02 - Both store-bought and handmade puff pastry work fine
03 - Great idea for Valentine's Day or celebrations
