Sausage Bow Tie Pasta (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

β†’ Pasta and Protein

01 - 1 pound Italian sausage, mild, without casings
02 - 12 oz bow tie noodles

β†’ Produce

03 - 4 garlic cloves, finely chopped
04 - 1 cup spinach, sliced thin
05 - 1/2 cup onion, diced
06 - Optional: freshly chopped parsley

β†’ Sauce

07 - 1 1/2 cups full-fat cream
08 - 28 oz chopped Italian-style canned plum tomatoes (drained)
09 - 2 tbsp olive oil
10 - Optional: 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes

# Instructions:

01 - Start by boiling water in a big pot. Toss in the bow tie noodles and cook as the box says. Drain and set aside.
02 - Take a wide skillet and heat up some olive oil. Cook the sausage with those pepper flakes, breaking it up into bits, until it’s nice and browned.
03 - Toss the onions and garlic into the pan with the sausage. Keep stirring until the onion softens up.
04 - Pour in the tomatoes and cream. Let it gently bubble on low heat for around 10 minutes until it gets a bit thicker.
05 - Stir in your spinach and cook an extra 3 minutes. Toss in the pasta, mix it all up, and, if you like, sprinkle parsley on top before serving.

# Notes:

01 - You can swap in sweet or spicy sausage if you prefer.
02 - Make sure to take the sausage out of the casing before cooking.
03 - This dish heats up beautifully for leftovers.
