Cherry Pie Bars (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Base

01 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
02 - 2 cups sugar
03 - 1 teaspoon salt
04 - 4 large eggs at room temp
05 - 1 cup butter, softened
06 - ¼ teaspoon almond extract
07 - 3 cups of regular flour

→ Filling

08 - 2 cans of cherry pie filling (each 21 oz)

→ Glaze

09 - 2-3 tablespoons milk (2%)
10 - ½ teaspoon almond extract
11 - ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
12 - 1 cup powdered sugar

# Instructions:

01 - Get your oven heated to 350°F. Beat softened butter, sugar, and salt together for 5-7 minutes until it’s light and airy. Add eggs one at a time, then toss in the extracts. Slowly mix in your flour.
02 - Press 3 cups of dough into a greased 15x10x1-inch pan. Pour the cherry filling all over the top and spoon teaspoon-sized drops of the rest of the dough over it evenly.
03 - Pop it in the oven for 35-40 minutes until it’s golden. Let it cool completely on a rack, still in the pan.
04 - Combine the powdered sugar, flavor extracts, and just enough milk to get the drizzle consistency you want. Drip on top once your bars have cooled.

# Notes:

01 - Easy to bring to parties or events
02 - Works well for baking beginners
