Set your oven to 375°F and lightly grease a 9x13 pan.

In a small bowl, stir together baking soda, salt, and flour. In a separate large mixing bowl, beat together brown sugar, sugar, vanilla, and butter until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time and mix well. Slowly stir in the dry ingredients. Finish by folding in the chocolate chips.

Spread half the dough evenly in the pan. Pop it into the oven for about 8 to 10 minutes. Take it out once it’s baked.

While the bottom layer bakes, melt the caramels with the evaporated milk using a double boiler. Stir in the peanut butter once the caramel mix is smooth. Spread this over the baked base layer.

Spoon the leftover dough on top of the caramel mix in small drops or chunks.

Put everything back in the oven and bake for another 15-20 minutes. Take them out when they’re golden on top.
